Resolutions and Goals

So, what are they?

What are your New Year’s Resolutions and goals? What are you hoping to acheive, accomplish, see, do, and/or make this year? Do you have a clear vision for 2020?

If you think that last question was a little too on the nose, I know. I couldn’t resist.

But seriously, you probably have some things you’re starting and/or continuing as one year ends and another begins. That’s a good thing. Despite the statistics that show how unlikely you are to accomplish those goals, it feels nice to at least have them. Yeah, you’ll quit on yourself eventually, but I’m excited you’re thinking in a direction.

Can I throw you a curve ball?

What if this year you turned those goals outward? What if your resolutions weren’t about YOU?

Including Them

I know this about myself…I’ll quit on me faster and more easily than I’ll quit on you. And when I don’t quit on you I feel a lot better about me. And then I feel like we are all connected and collective in this thing called life.

I want to challenge each of you reading this to turn your year inside-out. Set goals that involve others. What can you help (name of person) accomplish this year? What can you give away to see that (fill in person) has everything they need to take that next important step in their life.

Who needs you to include them in your goals?

Your new year might need to include a new way of being human. A way that sees others as more important than yourself. A way that considers others. A way that carries the weight of another. A way that sacrifices.

This year I’ve personally got a ton of changes happening. I’m going to feel strapped for time and money. I know it. So, I’m going to do the counter intuitive thing and give time and money away.

Join the discussion! Who might you need to include as you plan and prepare for 2020?
